A little behind on my updates so will cover 2 days at once. I got the base painted. I tried 3 different colors on the base in small spots and stood back and looked at them for a couple of days. Just kept coming back to the black. As I have said I knew it was not going to be gray! Just tired of gray.

I spent time cleaning and priming the sliding tables and all the small components like the ramps that the table rides up and down on. Lot of dirty work.

Then it was time to tackle the tables. I really wanted to clean them with electrolysis because of the webbing cast into the underside. There are lots of nooks and crannies that are hard to wire brush. I read something about a 55 gallon barrel and I remember I have a few left in the barn. I retrieved one and cut the top off and it was perfect size for the tables.

Here you can see the table lifted up and about to go in the tank. These tables are so heavy I can't pick one up. I can move it around and just barely flip it over. After 24 hours in the tank here is what you can expect to see.
